Career History
PropertyMartOverseas
My position at Property Mart Overseas SLU was as an XML developer, with the initial focus of the job being to create a set of converters from some of the most popular property feeds into a standard feed. This standard feed could then be imported into the new indexing system that had been developed for the launch of the new site on the 17th September 2007.
However, due to problems with the completion of the outsourced programming of the new company website, I became involved in the final preparations for its completion. This involved working with a dedicated team of staff, planning timescales and setting targets in order to produce the completed website and keep to the tight deadlines.
Despite the company's initial fears that they would not be able to launch the website on time, we produced a workable site ready for the planned launch and I continued to work on its development up until the company's untimely bankruptcy at the end of October 2007.
During my time with the company I also carried out SEO work on the website both prior to and after its launch in order to maintain and improve the website rankings.
Lottery24
My initial job after graduating from university was with Lottery 24 where I worked as a LAMP Developer. I started by working on small projects on the site, such as registration and contact forms and I then progressed to supervising and training new programming staff, working on affiliate software to log banner impressions and click thru rates and standing in for the Software Manager during his absences from the office. This involved liaising with the CEO of the company, supervising sales staff and translators and ensuring the smooth running of the website.
