Task: Upgrade the online presence of an online store

As one of our first tasks using Joomla this was a great introduction in how-to and how-not-to use Joomla! After reviewing the available shopping cart systems available for Joomla we settled on Virtuemart, which at the time was still in its infancy. We have since made many modifications to the site, originally by editing the Virtuemart source code, and more recently by creating a suite of component, modules and plugins accessing the Virtuemart database tables.

Here is a selection of the many extensions we have made to this site:

• Display pricing in appropriate currency based on users detected location (IP based detection in conjunction with Virtuemart's "ShopperGroup" system)
• Related items module written for cart page to suggest other items the user might like to buy (Based on Virtuemart's "Related Products" function, and using products from the current cart)

Online Training

Task: Extension of existing template system

A basic template system had been used for this site to keep all pages with the same theme, STiplady.net was contacted to allow different themes to be used based on the exact url, so that the site could be branded according to the specific client viewing the site.

Property Portal Feeds

Task: Create property feeds

As a first task for this agency I was tasked to create property feeds from a site that had been created based on data from the Vebra and Reapit systems, and as a result had a varying degree of accuracy in its data. Feeds to the following portals were required:

• Find A Property
• Hot Property
• Look 4 a Property
• PrimeLocation
• Property Finder
• Rightmove

This is an ongoing project and we now feed the portfolio of properties to these additional portals
